Greg Casson Memorial Weekend

Jets-R-Us organised and hosted the 5th Greg Casson Memorial Jet Weekend fly-in on the weekend of 6th-8th November. The event was held this year at the Military Base at Jan Kempdorp on the border of the Northern Cape and North West. Greg was a dear friend to many and was held in high regard for his many years of knowledge in the model fraternity. He was dedicated to helping anyone and everyone and would part with his knowledge very easily. Five years have passed and our industry has felt the loss of this great mind and wealth of knowledge.

The Greg Casson Memorial Jet Weekend has come and gone.

For those who attended from the Thursday to Sunday it was a long and hot 4 days. Never the less it was definitely enjoyed by all.

A special thanks to all who attended and to all the helpers who got stuck in and helped wherever they could.

A total of 28 pilots attended with 46 aircraft. We had very few mishaps considering the amount of flights flown in around a 13 hour day envelope.

A huge welcome to the new Jet pilots, Stan Fincham and Craig Robinson, as well as to those future pilots who drove from Pietersburg to come watch and learn as they are very keen to get started in Jets: Johan van der Merwe, Ingo Hiesterman, Marius Thiart and Johan Bornman.
